Since Feb 2008, paysafecard has doubled its footprint in Europe from 7 to 14 countries, with other recent additions being Portugal and the Czech Republic.

Michael Mueller, CEO of the paysafecard group, explains the expansion: "Prepaid options for e-commerce are becoming increasingly popular among Internet users, because they are secure and easy to use. From our market research we learned that there is a very high demand for safe and uncomplicated payment solutions like paysafecard throughout many European countries. That is one reason why the paysafecard group has seen such a tremendous growth in a relatively short space of time. Our expectations, in terms of success in the countries we expanded to, were exceeded and we still see a lot of potential in other markets, even beyond Europe."

The Austrian company has expanded throughout Europe and is now available in Austria, Germany, UK, Spain, France, Slovakia, Greece, Belgium, Slovenia, Switzerland, Portugal, the Netherlands, Poland and the Czech Republic.
