Bravura Solutions Limited (Bravura) - a leading global supplier of wealth management applications and professional services - today announced that it has successfully completed the first stage proof of concept (POC) porting of Talisman to run on Oracle Database, as part of its continuing development program for Sonata suite.

Bravura Solutions is a member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork.

This development is in line with Bravura's strategy of providing systems that will integrate more seamlessly with its clients' IT architecture and follows the successful implementation of Bravura's Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) solution with Perpetual earlier this year.

This development is a major step towards the ultimate position of database independence for the Sonata suite.

Nick Parsons, Chief Technology Officer for Bravura Solutions, said: "Following the POC, we are confident that we have solutions to meet all the technical challenges. We have moved a significant piece of the Talisman application to the target architecture, and are pleased to report that it is performing well.

"We are now certain that the technology is proven, and we can run our Talisman and Sonata applications on both Oracle and Sybase, with SQL to follow".

Alan Hartwell, Vice President, Technology Solutions and Channels, Oracle UK, said: "By adding Oracle technology to its solution, Bravura is providing its customers with infrastructure software that meets their growing IT needs. Oracle Database allows customers to take advantage of the proven performance, reliability and security for which Oracle is renowned."

The beta cycle for Talisman and Sonata in the new architecture will commence in June next year with a targeted client. The goal is to be production-ready by the end of 2009.
