Orpak has recently introduced the Secured OrPT, a robust Outdoor Payment Terminal for gas stations certified for the latest PCI & EMV requirements.

The Secured OrPT's small footprint is specially designed to fit on existing dispensers as an affordable retrofit solution addressing the card issuer security requirements that are already compulsory in many countries. PCI security will be required in the US by mid 2010 for outdoor payment on the forecourt. This new product is joining Orpak's OrPT family of outdoor payment products with over 40,000 installations worldwide.

Oz Goren, Orpak Systems VP Marketing: "The new Secured OrPT allows petroleum retailers an easy migration to secure pay at the pump by installing this rugged outdoor payment terminal onto their existing dispensers. It enables oil companies and station owners to increase their revenue from both fuel and dry goods sales. The Secured OrPT accepts a large variety of payment means: magnetic cards, chip cards and contactless cards like Mifare and PayPass. An integrated barcode reader enables advanced marketing initiatives such as loyalty programs and discount coupons."

Rapid implementation and certification of payment applications is crucial for fast deployment of a pay at the pump solution. The Secured OrPT uses Ingenico's operating system, which already has many payment applications as well as connectivity to clearing systems, and supports all standard payment encryption methods.

The terminal is integrated with the station automation and POS of several partners, while adaptations for other systems can be easily done using Orpak's high level Software Development Tool. The device interfaces with the forecourt controller or the station POS via TCP/IP or a serial link, while a second TCP/IP port is dedicated to the transactions.
