Neptune Software, a leading provider of banking systems, today announced that Fina Bank Rwanda has gone live with Neptune's banking system in just four months.
Established in 1986, Fina Bank is headquartered in Kenya. Fina Bank's relationship with Neptune Software started back in 1995 when Neptune's core banking system was implemented at Fina Bank, Kenya. After the acquisition of a bank in Rwanda formerly known as BACAR four years ago, the board made the decision to roll out Neptune's banking platform as a group solution. The bank was initially running on Microbanker and had major issues with reporting and system interface.
Mr Steve Caley, managing director, Fina Bank, said, "The bank is planning to open more branches within the next few months and Neptune's products will provide a solid foundation for the expansion with branches networked on a single back office system." He also commented that Neptune will give the bank the competitive advantage to offer products to its customers faster than ever and improve customer service. "Moreover, being a Group Solution (Fina Uganda has gone live a few weeks ago), there will be uniformity in the way business is done in the region and at some stage, the Group may consider a single back office processing facility," added Caley.
Esmail Ali, project manager for Fina Rwanda, said, "This has been a challenging project considering the tight deadline but with the expertise and dedication of the project team, the objective was positively achieved."
Priscillah Kivihya, senior Consultant, Neptune Software commented, "The bank's Management, Super users and the Project team efforts were exceptional and highly commendable to achieving today's targets"
