Metrobank, the largest bank in the Philippines, recently went live with Thomson Reuters instant messaging service.
Metrobank will use Reuters Messaging, a professional-grade instant messaging and collaboration service aimed at the needs of the financial marketplace, to allow users from its treasury, corporate banking, and retail branches globally to meet their increasing need to communicate and exchange data in real-time.
Reuters Messaging will also help the Bank capture new business opportunities by improving workflow efficiency and synchronizing information across time zones.

It features premium group collaboration capabilities through chat rooms and enriched market data sharing capabilities like file sharing, pre-formatted financial forms, and image sharing. For example, users can quickly share a portion of their desktop such as image of the latest process, charts or Microsoft Excel sheets. It also has a centralised dashboard interface which enables users to view and manage all incoming emails, instant messages, and chat room messages.
