TietoEnator and the Finnish Farmer's Social Insurance Institution (Mela) continue the agreement on delivering ICT operating services to Mela during 2009-2011.

The agreement is overall worth 10 million euro which includes two years option. TietoEnator provides Mela with all operating services and related specialist support. TietoEnator also builds a dedicated, entirely renewed ICT operation environment for Mela.

The new operation environment is based on TietoEnator's standard services that form a basis for a cost-efficient solution fulfilling the customer's requirements. The agility of the operation environment in volume changes for example, is a core factor for Mela's operations and services.

- We had a competitive bidding on operating services as required by the Finnish Act on Public Contracts and the agreement was negotiated with TietoEnator according to the Public Procurement Decision. The new service provides us with a dedicated operation environment, and the services are produced according to a Service Level Agreement. Those are important features for us, says Päivi Huotari, Managing Director of Mela.

- We appreciate that MELA considers us as a trusted partner and we are able to further develop their information technology and produce the central ICT operating services for Mela's operations. MELA is also a major Customer in the area of application development services so we can offer them services of the entire digitalised value chain, says Director Esa Viitamäki, who is responsible for employee pension sector customers in TietoEnator Processing & Network.
