For several years, the financial industry and customers have tried to find a way to improve the technical set-up with modern standardised technology. However, to implement this in practice has turned out to be a challenge. Now, Nordea has solved this challenge! For the first time, a Web Services connection was carried out in a real production environment.

Nordea has long traditions in the area of corporate to-bank connection services in the Nordic countries. The technological breakthrough will be used to provide one point of entry to Nordea for all corporate customers in the Nordic market. Finland and Sweden will be first, followed by Denmark and Norway.

Customer needs in focus

Nordea focuses strongly on customers' needs and interests when developing new services. The new Web services solution is the basis for better and more efficient services, increased security and adaptability to new demands set out by SEPA and XML.

"Nordea is a frontrunner in realising the overall vision of working with open and modern networks for corporate-to-bank connectivity. Customers today demand standard connectivity with lower complexity, and this is our response to that demand", says Petri T. Luoto, Head of Integration Services in Nordea Finland.
