Travelex offers currency rates alerts

Travelex, the world's leading foreign currency exchanger, is offering a free service that tracks currency rates and notifies travelers when they can save money on their foreign currency purchase. Exchange rates move up and down every day in response to changing market conditions, and therefore, the cost to travelers goes up and down every day. People with future international travel plans can simply call or email their local Travelex store to sign up for the Rate Watch service, specify their travel dates and currency needs, and Travelex will call or email them when rate movements lead to potential savings.

Travelers are saving a lot of money on currency exchanges right now due to the recent gains of the US dollar, which is stronger right now than it has been in more than six months. For example, a traveler who signed up for the Travelex Rate Watch service 3 weeks ago for Euros would save nearly 10% if they purchased the Euros they need for their upcoming trip today. On a purchase of €1,000, that means savings of $160!

"Our customers are telling us that this is a service that delivers real value," said Jon Dario, Travelex's North America Retail director. "Some of our stores have over 150 customers on active Rate Watch at any one time, and those lists are growing every day in all of our stores. Customers appreciate that with so much for them to do to get ready for their international trip, we've removed the need for them to worry about their foreign currency purchase."

The Rate Watch service is free and is available on all tradable currencies. Participants who sign up are not obligated to make a purchase.
