VocaLink's mobile phone top-up service is simpler, more accessible and now available through more retail outlets than any other top-up method. It now accounts for over 30% of UK top-up retail outlets, making it the largest top-up retail network in the country.

VocaLink's mobile phone top-up capability, which enables pre-pay mobile phone users to top-up their phone credit at a cash machine, will be integrated into all of HBOS's ATMs, together with 1,040 Sainsbury's ATMs. This adds to more than 20 other participating banks and building societies that already provide the service across the UK. With HBOS and Sainsbury's now offering the facility, the mobile top-up network will be extended to nearly 50,000 cash machines.

Martin Kearsley, Director of Strategy at VocaLink, commented, "We are delighted that HBOS and Sainsbury's have joined our mobile phone top-up service. By increasing the network to almost 50,000 ATMs, more banks and retail outlets can offer this value added service to customers."

Gill Sephton, Head of HBOS ATM Channel, added, "We are pleased to be offering this top-up service at all of our ATMs, providing pre-pay mobile phone users with a quick and convenient way to top-up their phones. The new service will complement the existing range of facilities currently offered at all HBOS ATMs."
