PolarLake and AIB Bank today announce that PolarLake has been chosen as the central integration and data distribution technology for AIB's core Banking replacement programme in Ireland and the UK.
Working with i-flex FLEXCUBE and IBM WebSphere on the IBM System z mainframe platform, PolarLake will be used to enable a seamless transition from the older core Banking applications to the new i-flex system.
PolarLake will also enable the channel applications (Branch, Internet, ATM and Call Centre) to be hidden from the complexity of the core Banking transition.
Jack Molony, IT Executive, Enterprise Banking Systems, AIB Group, commented: "As part of our Retail Banking transformational programme, we have a clear requirement for a layer that performs high-speed routing, transformation and protocol-switching between all of our channels and our current and planned new back-end Accounting Systems. The purpose of using PolarLake is to provide a new Services Oriented Architectural layer for our multiple channels so that we are insulated from the changes taking place in our Core Banking system."
John Randles, PolarLake's CEO, commented: "We are delighted to have been selected by AIB Bank for this high profile project, against a host of international competition. This decision reflects on PolarLake's demonstrated success in mission critical projects across Financial Services. PolarLake has proven itself to be very resource efficient on the mainframe; it has the ability to handle the volumes in production and is the only mainframe-capable XML based integration product that handles both real time transactions and batch processes. These are key requirements for core Banking replacements and our low latency, patented XML pipelining technology proved to be a key differentiator."
