The additional ATMs expand Chase's New York Tri-State ATM network to more than 2,450 machines, expanding its position as New York's most convenient bank. It also will bring the national total to more than 9,300. Chase customers can get cash or check balances at any of its ATMs without incurring a fee. Chase has begun the Hess Express installations and will complete the effort by the end of March.

"We are providing 107 more convenient locations for our customers to access their accounts for free," said Scott Powell, chief executive officer of Chase consumer banking. "Now, our customers can go to Chase branches, Duane Reade stores or Hess Express locations."

The multiyear branding agreement with Cardtronics (www.cardtronics.com), which owns and operates the ATMs, will put the Chase logo on ATMs in Hess Express convenience stores in the following areas:

  • Long Island, 35
  • Northeast New Jersey, 23
  • Northern NY suburbs, 18
  • Northwest New Jersey, 14
  • New York City, 10
  • New Jersey Shore, 7

To find the locations of the ATMs at Hess Express or of any Chase ATM, consumers can go to chase.com. Also, each Hess Express convenience store will have the Chase logo displayed on its window.

"We see this as another way to deliver a great experience for our customers," said Richard Lawlor, Hess Corporation Vice President, Retail Marketing. "Consumers appreciate the convenience and value we can provide by partnering with a strong brand like Chase."

Chase announced a similar expansion of its Tri-state ATM network in 2005 in an agreement that put a Chase ATM at more than 260 Duane Reade drugstores in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Chase has more than 600 branches and 2,041 ATMs in New York and more than 150 branches and 277 ATMs in New Jersey.
