INDATA, the industry-leader in advanced enterprise software solutions for investment management firms, today announced the availability of enhanced risk measurement tools within I.M.S. for Windows.
Collectively, the new features offer a seamlessly integrated approach to risk measurement and analysis. Portfolio Managers are able to view risk measures and analytics within the same module that contains their portfolio modeling, rebalancing and compliance tools. Moreover, because these analytics are being calculated by the same INDATA system that performs the portfolio management functions, data accuracy is insured, eliminating the need for and costs associated with batching data to third party risk measurement vendors. This data integration gives the money management firm a competitive advantage from an operational efficiency and cost standpoint.
Specifically, the risk measurement features, which are calculated by APEX, INDATA's Attribution, Performance and Analytics module, allow users of Precision Manager, Part of Precision Trading, INDATA's best of breed portfolio modeling, compliance, and trade order management system, to view a variety of risk characteristics.
They include standard deviation, Sharpe ratio, alpha, beta, r-squared, correlation, CAPM, M2 and risk adjusted returns, among others on individual or groups of portfolios versus various benchmarks. The new features include a variety of flexible and customizable on-screen views, which are exportable to excel. In addition, customizable reports include "on the fly" graphing and charting capabilities.
"As risk measurement has become an increasingly important part of the investment management process, we have sought to keep our current and future clients ahead of the curve," stated David Csiki, Managing Director of INDATA. "These enhanced tools are in line with INDATA's new vision of the front office, providing portfolio managers not only with portfolio modeling, compliance and trading tools, but also the analytics which drives their decision making process," continued Csiki, "including performance, attribution, and risk analysis. In addition to the latest technology, in-depth functionality and excellent customer service," Csiki added. "It is this approach that distinguishes INDATA from the competition."
