Informatica Corporation (Nasdaq: INFA), a leading provider of data integration software, today announced that Brazil's Caixa Economica Federal (CEF), the largest government-owned bank in Latin America, has chosen the Informatica PowerCenter data integration platform and Informatica Data Quality to underpin a data integration project centralizing customer information to gain a single view of the customer.

By integrating company-wide data currently stored in three disparate systems and platforms - banking customers in one database; employees in another; and mortgage customers in a third environment - the new system put in place will upgrade and deploy new processes to generate key decision-support information for the bank's business management, risk management and fraud prevention systems.

The Informatica solution will be deployed across CEF's three main centers located in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia in the CRM and Data Warehousing functions, and will manage the Government's Severance Indemnity Fund for Workers (FGTS) information. CEF will also use Informatica's metadata management functionality to support compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and Basel II - requirements for documentation and auditing.

"We are very pleased to have met all the bank's extensive requirements during a year-long selection process that culminated with a one week and 40-hour deadline to test and prove the effectiveness of the proposed solution," said Carlos Andre, regional director, Informatica Latin America. "Through its Informatica implementation, Caixa Economica Federal will achieve gains at both the tactical and strategic levels, increasing the company's competitiveness and effectiveness."
