SunGard today announced that it has launched a new solution, BancWare Relationship Manager, that enables the deployment of risk-based pricing to help financial institutions maximize customer relationship value and competitive performance.
As either a stand-alone solution or fully integrated with the BancWare risk and performance measurement suite, BancWare Relationship Manager helps account officers at financial institutions determine at the point of origination which commercial, small business and high net worth relationships should be acquired or retained.
Andreas Hug, managing director, EMEA, for SunGard's BancWare business unit, commented, "Financial institutions facing lean margins, slowing loan growth and commoditization of products, need to demonstrate to their boards and stakeholders that the customer relationships that they acquire and retain are contributing to the profitability of the institution. With BancWare Relationship Manager, instead of simply pricing to market, these institutions can use risk-based pricing to help gain market share among the best customers and make strategic lending decisions that can assist in creating the highest long-term value for the customer, financial institution and relationship."
An enterprise-wide solution, BancWare Relationship Manager helps finance and treasury executives cultivate and enforce a strategic pricing discipline throughout the organization. At the branch level, it provides a complete view of the existing business, renegotiated terms on existing business, and new business for all customer relationships associated with an account. This helps relationship managers understand and accurately value the contribution of existing customer relationships. It also provides a performance measurement framework in which varying products can be accurately valued in regard to a new customer's relationship over time.
"With the release of Relationship Manager, BancWare will round out its performance management solution suite with a sophisticated tool to help banks make the most prudent relationship-based pricing decisions, both for customers and shareholders," said Lynn Courchaine, senior vice president and director of performance measurement at The Se South Financial Group. "We look forward to rolling out BancWare Relationship Manager to our front lines."
