The PCI SVA works with the retail and payment card industries to develop efficient and cost-effective ways to achieve compliance with the PCI Data Security Standards (PCI DSS), a global benchmark intended to improve security throughout the entire payment card transaction process.

PCI SVA members, all with strong experience in delivering PCI compliance solutions to thousands of customers, leverage their combined knowledge to support the objectives of the PCI Security Standards Council - securing sensitive data processed by merchant partners with best-of-breed PCI DSS solutions that address the needs of system integrators and business users.

"We look forward to working with our new members to develop and offer solutions that will enhance the payment card industry and merchants abilities to protect and secure private consumer information and other sensitive data," said David Taylor, president and CEO, of the PCI SVA and VP Data Security Strategies, Protegrity Corporation.

To help further smooth the path to PCI DSS compliance, PCI SVA recently released a free tool that enables merchants and other PCI DSS regulated businesses to identify software and service providers for any specific DSS requirement. The tool includes inexpensive, optional software packages that helps regulated businesses quickly and easily conduct a detailed, formal risk analysis as required by PCI DSS section 12.

The final output of the assessment includes a list of missing requirements that links to software and service providers whose offerings address shortcomings found during the assessment. The database contains a listing of SVA Member's software and services matched to the 200+ requirements of the PCI DSS. Listings in the Risk Assessment Tool's directory of solution providers are open to PCI SVA member organizations only.
