Mavent, a provider of automated regulatory compliance solutions to the mortgage industry's largest originators and investors, and Calyx Software, makers of the award winning Calyx Point loan origination and processing system, today announced the integration of the Mavent Expert System into Calyx Point.

Using Calyx WebConnect technology, the Mavent interface will enable Point and Point Data Server users to quickly, effortlessly and accurately review loan data against nearly 300 legislative acts, roughly 200 license types, the rules and regulations of over 60 regulatory authorities and the mandated compliance policies of the industry's leading investors, prior to closing.

Mavent's clients comprise some of the industry's largest mortgage institutions, including Fannie Mae, several Wall Street firms and four of the top five mortgage originators. The interface in Point enables Mavent to deliver to more than 275,000 Point and Point Data Server users the same quality compliance review used by their investors, at a cost that is competitive with more generic services that focus only on smaller institutions.

"Our clients fund or purchase nearly one out of every two mortgage loans originated," said Lou Pizante, CEO of Mavent. "Calyx's impressive 67.9 percent market share enables Mavent to provide our high quality service affordably to the small- and mid-sized originators that work with our larger clients. Besides affording them the greatest protection from compliance risk, this will benefit Calyx customers by accelerating fundings, reducing kick-outs, and improving executions overall."

"Mavent provides the legal resources and technological expertise that can provide Point users with a significant competitive advantage in regards to how they manage quality control," said Dennis Boggs, senior vice president of Business Development of Calyx Software. "This integration provides our customers with access to the same quality of compliance review used by the most prominent institutions in the industry, and does so at a very reasonable cost."

Mavent's review functions include aspects of the Truth In Lending Act; HOEPA, state and local high cost reviews; loan level lender and broker license reviews; state consumer credit laws relating to such terms as usury, fee restrictions and prohibitions, prepayment penalties, late fees, and loan term and payment limitations; certain requirements of the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act and the Office of Foreign Asset Control; and, investor program requirements, such as an accurate Fannie Mae points and fees threshold test.
