TietoEnator has entered into an agreement with the leading Nordic player Nordea for the implementation of a Sepa Credit Transfer solution.

The bank is currently testing the software aiming for a production start in January 2008. This will enable Nordea to be fully compliant with the requirements for European Payment Council's SEPA Credit Transfers (SCT) Scheme Rulebook and the European Banking Association's EBA STEP2 SCT clearing and settlement service.

This is the first component of TietoEnator's new Payments Framework which is being extended to also provide full SEPA Direct Debits processing capabilities.

Dagfinn Loen, Sales Executive, TietoEnator says: "We are pleased to extend our cooperation with Nordea in the payments area and to be responding to the bank's SEPA requirements. The pan-European introduction of payment instruments for credit transfers and direct debits will mark a major milestone in the creation of the Single Euro Payments Area, and TietoEnator plays a significant role in making it happen".
