The new Web site is an easy-to-use, one-stop shop for compliance guidance and is available to all subscribers to the Metavante Regulatory Services premium membership.

The Web site is an extension of the widely used Metavante Regulatory Services manual on banking laws and regulations. Written for bankers, the manual is available in print and now online. Key site features of the new Web site include:

  • Links to the latest regulatory mandates and industry hot topics;
  • Compliance resources enabling quick regulatory research in areas such as advertising, HMDA, IRS reporting, Regulations CC and Z;
  • Calendar of upcoming regulatory services and bank industry events, with online registration;
  • A reference library of frequently asked questions and enhanced search capabilities.

An independent survey recently conducted by Leede Research Group on behalf of Metavante revealed the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and USA PATRIOT Act to be the most challenging compliance issues facing the nation's community and regional banks, with 98 percent planning a risk-based assessment of their anti-money laundering (AML) programs in 2007.

"Regulation persists for financial institutions," said Gary Bakker, vice president and general manager, Metavante Risk and Compliance Solutions. "We see this pain point and significant pressure to continually improve risk and compliance practices. By fashioning a new Web site, we are responding with a broad online package of resources to assist in addressing these challenges."

In addition to the Web site, Metavante Regulatory Services offers clients a toll-free hotline for access to seasoned experts including former financial institution attorneys, compliance officers and examiners. To facilitate timely information regarding changes to banking laws and regulations, E-mail Advisory Services gives updates and notifications whenever a regulation change occurs.

"Metavante Regulatory Services is one of the industry leaders in providing efficient compliance services," said Blair Rugh, senior vice president, Metavante Regulatory Services. "We deliver customized information when organizations need it so new mandates can be applied to their unique policies and procedures."
