WaMu and Cardtronics agree branding deal for 310 Texas ATMs

WaMu, (NYSE:WM) one of the nation's leading consumer and small business banks, has entered into an agreement with Cardtronics, LP to place 310 branded ATMs in CVS/pharmacy stores in the Texas metropolitan areas of Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio and Austin.

The branded ATMs, which will feature the WaMu logo, transaction screens and printed receipts, will provide surcharge-free cash withdrawals, balance inquires and account transfers to all WaMu customers. The branded ATMs are owned and operated by Cardtronics.

"We're continuously striving to bring our customers value and make banking simpler," said Larry Andrews, SVP and division executive for WaMu's retail bank in Texas. "By teaming up with Cardtronics and CVS/pharmacy, we're able to further expand our ATM footprint, strengthen our brand presence and deliver additional convenience for our customers by giving them more access to their money."

WaMu has 247 branches in Texas. This expansion through CVS/pharmacy brings the total number of ATMs in Texas at which WaMu customers can make fee-free withdrawals to 670, including 282 in Houston, 273 in Dallas/Fort Worth, 63 in San Antonio and 52 in Austin.
