Cryptomathic today announced that First Data International, a global leader in electronic commerce and payment services, has chosen to integrate Cryptomathic's CardInk EMV data preparation system with its VisionPLUS processing platform, for the issuing of EMV cards in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
CardInk performs the data preparation (data generation and crypto key management) for Visa and MasterCard branded EMV cards. First Data will use the CardInk system to assist a large number of banks across the EMEA region to issue up to 50 million EMV cards annually.

Previously, our largest EMV customer was Cedicam (Credit Agricole and Credit Lyonnais) in France with 12 million multi-application cards, so the First Data installation is yet another great indicator of our position as a leading provider of EMV solutions to large processors, bureaux and banks."
