With Obopay, Cellular South wireless customers can now instantly and effortlessly receive, send and spend money directly from their wireless device to anyone, anywhere, anytime.

As part of the service, Cellular South wireless users can send money directly from their mobile device to any mobile phone number and instantly receive money from any Obopay user. With Obopay's user-friendly features, users can check account balances, get money owed from other mobile users, and view transaction histories as well as invite friends to use the service. The service also comes with an optional Obopay Prepaid MasterCard, which gives Obopay users instant access to the funds that are sent to their Obopay account and lets them spend it at more than 24 million retail locations and 1.1 million ATMs in the U.S.

This Cellular South service is the first of a variety of m-commerce solutions the wireless company plans to deliver -- further positioning Cellular South as a leader in m-commerce innovation and adoption. This summer, Cellular South will become the first wireless company to launch a multi-city consumer trial for its Wireless Wallet service in Memphis, Tenn. and Jackson, Miss.

"Today's wireless services need to provide solutions for all aspects of life on-the-go, which is why Cellular South is committed to driving mobile payments and m-commerce adoption throughout our service area," said Greg Latour, senior vice president of technology development for Cellular South. "We are very excited to add Obopay to our menu of innovative offerings to further enhance the mobile experience for our customers."

"We are thrilled to team with Cellular South to enable their mobile users to experience our fun and rapidly growing mobile payment service," said Howard Gefen, executive vice president of corporate marketing and business development, Obopay. "With Obopay on Cellular South, we will make it easier for anyone to get and send money instantly to anyone anytime anywhere - all from the convenience of their mobile phone."

Obopay will be offered as a free download (and free subscription) to new and existing Cellular South customers who subscribe to a BREW service feature.
