EBS Live doubles frequency of data delivery

EBS, the world's leading provider of electronic trading and market data solutions to the interbank FX community, has announced a major new enhancement to EBS Live.

Launched in February 2004, EBS Live delivers one-second time slices of the best rates actively quoted on EBS Spot. The latest enhancement has doubled that frequency to time slices of 500 milliseconds.

EBS Live's direct, real-time feed delivers the complete range of transactional data required by trading communities for accurate and timely pricing and decision-making. EBS Live is available to all EBS Spot customers and provides the definitive view of the market – giving traders the advantage they need, while significantly reducing exposure and risk.

Delivered at consistent speeds of less than 200 milliseconds direct from EBS to the customer’s market data distribution platform, EBS Live significantly reduces the risk associated with latency.

Says Bill Moran, Chief Operating Officer, EBS: "EBS Live is already proving its value to a number of global network banks, which have recognised the huge benefits to be gained from 'first mover advantage'. The new 500 milliseconds time slice doubles the frequency provided by the majority of other solutions, while delivering the same levels of consistency and speed our customers have come to expect."

The enhancement follows a successful customer pilot and is expected to be of significant interest to banks and organisations wishing to enhance their real-time view of the FX market.

EBS Live is designed chiefly for financial organisations that manage competitive e-commerce products or remote sales desks and arbitrage FX traders demanding timely changes to the market. It addresses customers' requirements for one product to meet multi-department market data needs.

Global market prices distribution relies on EBS Spot for FX spot data on all major currency pairs. As EBS market data is fed from the EBS Spot dealing platform, it is therefore a true reflection of the FX market at a given time, delivering a superior market advantage to customers. EBS research has shown that if quoted prices are the same, then two times out of three the first price displayed will be traded. EBS Live provides a true reflection of activity on the EBS Spot system at any one time.

EBS Live is the newest addition to the portfolio of EBS Market Data solutions, which offers a variety of options, whatever the customer’s needs, size and preferred distribution method.

In addition to EBS Live, the portfolio includes: EBS Ticker, delivered as record-based digital data from EBS via third-party distribution to the customer, and EBS Rates, a view-only version of the EBS Ticker feed now available exclusively through Bloomberg.
