SunGard announced that it has released version 4.1 of referencePoint, a global enterprise data management solution that helps financial institutions to create and control enterprise-wide reference and market data.
The new version provides performance enhancements and additional flexibility within referencePoint's configuration and workbench tools, reporting, and historical data archives.
Janet Crowley, president of SunGard's referencePoint business, said, "referencePoint 4.1 provides expanded capabilities that help organizations to more efficiently configure, normalize and report on data across sources. We are also focusing on integration with other SunGard solutions, such as Adaptiv, by supporting a common framework consistently across SunGard solutions. With many years of domain and market data expertise, we remain committed to the enterprise data management discipline and the success of the referencePoint solution."
referencePoint 4.1 helps to simplify new database setup, administration and navigation throughout the data hierarchy. It provides users with improved features for identifying exceptions and problems, and includes new reports on multiple data sets. Version 4.1 also allows data across sources to be normalized onto a common model, and introduces an intelligent matching engine and workflow environment for supporting consolidation across sources.
referencePoint 4.1 includes the following enhancements:
- Multi-level matching across different sources can be implemented, such as company, instrument and issue level data on securities.
- FAME archiving metadata can be generated for all datasets, in preparation for transferring time-series data from relational tables to long-term FAME database storage.
- Numerous dynamic user interface enhancements have been implemented, including the addition of more than 50 screens supporting setup and maintenance activities, audit functions, FAME archiving and both normalization and matching exceptions.
- A series of new reports have been added that provide metrics for managing and analyzing the data flowing throughout the referencePoint environment.
- HTTP request/reply access for referencePoint data has been improveed to provide navigation through data sets, classes and categories in the referencePoint data hierarchy. Basic support for Web Services also has been implemented.
