Financial software house CMS WebView (AIM: CWV) has teamed up with telemarketing experts GCL Direct to generate sales leads for CMS's TDI software product.

GCL, based in Birmingham, from next week will target IT directors at banks, stock brokers and other financial institutions requiring specialist software that satisfies the wide range of regulatory requirements imposed under the new European MiFID directive which comes into force this November.

The telemarketing campaign is a key plank in CMS's new sales and marketing strategy, developed by CMS and Velocity Sales & Marketing Ltd, its strategic marketing partner.

Commenting on the new partnership, Bob Antell, Chief Executive of CMS WebView, said: "GCL is arranging meetings with the IT directors and project managers in City institutions who want a highly cost effective MiFID solution. It's a happy co-incidence that TDI, which was designed to collect, process and distribute live prices for exchanges, is also perfect for many parts of MiFID. Because we have already developed and installed TDI at a number of major exchanges, we can demonstrate its reliability and can offer a very attractively-priced solution to City firms that have to comply with the new Directive."

TDI works with all major data protocols (TCP/IP, XML, FTP, HTTP, UDP/IP etc) and includes as standard real-time data basing and extensive administration tools. As part of the new marketing strategy TDI is offered as an in-house development tool to clients who need control over the design and implementation of their data management requirements.

Many data management clients require "bolt on" solutions to current internal systems. TDI, with its flexible design tools and an easy to integrate API, is ideally suited. In addition TDI is modular, which means if clients just want a small subset of the its total functionality, they can purchase as much or as little as they want to meet their specific needs.

Bob Antell continued: "We look forward to working with GCL. Their experience in the IT arena, especially in the areas relevant to marketing TDI in the financial services sector, was a key decision in our choice. This new partnership builds on the arrangements put in place in the last quarter of 2006 to outsource some aspects of our IT and sales functions."

Scott Barr, Business Development Manager of GCL Direct, said: "We are delighted to be appointed by CMS for this project and are pleased to be embarking on a telemarketing campaign with a clear set of objectives which fit well with our areas of expertise."
