Chip Martin, vice president of product management for Bottomline Technologies, said, "This latest PayBase release features substantial enhancements to benefit Bottomline's customers, including the addition of CreateArchive, a proven technology that has demonstrated rapid return on investment. The new archive function, along with enhanced direct e-mail delivery capabilities for remittances and other documents, presents a valuable combination of features that offer even greater opportunities for savings, efficiency, and enhanced back-office and customer-facing support services."

A key new feature of PayBase v8.0 is the CreateArchive(TM) module. CreateArchive is an efficient, digital archiving system that creates indexed electronic records of all PayBase system output. It can be configured to enable self-service search and retrieval of archived documents from authorized Microsoft Windows(R) workstations on a local area network or optionally over the Internet using a standard Web browser. CreateArchive also enables scanning, indexing and storage of non-PayBase documents within the archive for easy one-stop accessibility that can reduce or eliminate physical storage of business documents.

The new eSend(TM) module provides streamlined, native e-mail delivery from within PayBase, enabling secure, automatic e-mail delivery of PDF images of processed items such as ACH remittance advices, checks, invoices, W-2 and 1099 forms, and purchase orders. Highly scaleable, eSend provides immediate savings by reducing or eliminating the postage, handling and hard-copy costs associated with traditional print and mail delivery of business documents.

Additional new features include:

  • Enhancements for BACSTEL-IP, the United Kingdom's electronic payments network, that extend PayBase's capabilities to include support for straight-through, "lights out" processing environments, contra-record management, and authorization workflow to set "approval limits" for individual users.
  • File Transfer Protocol (FTP) support, via Symantec Procomm(R), enables administrators to configure the encryption method for CFA and ACH transmission to banks. Compliant with the latest NACHA regulations on file security, encryption is set at the individual bank level within PayBase and is scripted to run each time a payment file is created and transmitted to the bank.
  • New support for Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) provides enhanced security support of all sensitive data maintained within the PayBase system.
  • An enhanced, user-friendly interface that further facilitates setup of users, groups, and permissions.
