The multi-million dollar contract represented one of the largest single orders in Brazil for any card payment terminals in 2006. Hypercom was awarded this contract in competition with other global payment terminal suppliers. Under the terms of the agreement, the card issuer took delivery of 18,000 T2100 terminals in December 2006, and will take delivery of the balance of the Hypercom terminals over the next 6 months.

"Hypercom's global reputation for trusted, high security payment products as evidenced by the T2100's outstanding and consistent performance was the driving factor in winning this new business," said O.B. Rawls IV, Senior Vice President, International Sales, Hypercom Corporation.

The Optimum T2100 is a high-speed countertop terminal based on a 32-bit RISC processor with 12 megabytes of memory and dial communications to speed installation and ease migration. It features EMV 4.0 and Visa PED certification with Triple DES, SSL and RSA cryptographic support and a secure casing to deliver the tightest security and durability.
