The Department of Justice had issued an informal request for information nine months ago following the March 2006 introduction of VantageScore.

"We are very pleased that the Department of Justice has closed its inquiry," said Kerry Williams, group president of Experian Information Solutions. "Experian was always confident the inquiry by the Department of Justice would be closed in a favorable manner to Experian. Experian and VantageScore Solutions carefully considered regulatory requirements to insure that VantageScore increases competition and choice in the credit scoring industry."
