Pegasystems (Nasdaq: PEGA), the leader in unified process and rules technology, has announced it has signed a technology partnership agreement with Business Objects (Nasdaq: BOBJ), the world’s leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions.

With this alliance, Pegasystems will work with Business Objects to help customers optimise business processes using real-time data analysis.

"We're excited to have Pegasystems join our Technology Partner Program, as it will help joint customers get the most out of their BI and BPM investments," said Wyatt Mullin, vice president of worldwide ISV channel, Business Objects.

"Pegasystems is leveraging our network of partners to create this powerful integration and the combination of Business Objects and Pegasystems expertise will greatly benefit our joint customers."

Pegasystems built its BPM suite using rules functionality to embrace change, allowing companies quickly to adjust to shifting market conditions. With Business Objects as a partner, the integration of BI and BPM allows organizations to not only analyse data used by business processes, but also performance data about the processes themselves. As such, organisations can work quickly to fine-tune and optimise the full range of interactions among people, systems, policies and data.

"With Business Objects providing the process analysis and Pegasystems providing the process execution, customers are able to pair insight into how their business operates with the ability to actually change the way their business operates," said Ben Frenkel, strategic business development, Pegasystems. "Organisations that possess the right information combined with an ability to act on it are clearly able to outperform their competitors."
