Stratus Technologies and ACI Worldwide announced today that their customer, Servicios Electronicos Globales (E-Global), now has the highest payments processing capacity in Mexico and can offer a much broader array of services for its banking and retail clients after going live with a new hardware/software solution provided by the partners.

The solution includes ACI's ON/2 payments software running on a Stratus ftServer V Series platform.

Mexico's largest payments processor, E-Global's technology investment expands and strengthens its ability to efficiently process electronic and voice-authorized POS transactions, as well as ATM, e-Commerce and cellular phone transactions. The newly enhanced solution also provides for online fraud monitoring, hospitality transactions, online inter-hosts transaction replication, and positive authorization. E-Global estimates it can handle more than two-and-a-half times its current peak transactions-per-second rates, allowing for future growth.

"As we continue to address rapid customer growth and compliance with industry mandates, it is vital that E-Global have a highly reliable and flexible payments platform, and the solution provided by Stratus Technologies and ACI Worldwide gives us that," said Arturo Lopez, director corporativo de sistemas from E-Global. "From commitment to implementation of the payments solution, ACI and Stratus provided for a smooth transition that exceeded our transactional volume and performance expectations."

A customer of both companies for seven years, E-Global chose to meet the increased demand for payments processing capacity by replacing legacy Stratus servers with new Stratus ftServer V Series systems. Intel processor-based V Series servers deliver three-to-five times more processing power, up to ten times better I/O performance, and field-proven uptime reliability exceeding 99.999 percent. The servers provide customers who have high-volume, mission- critical VOS applications an extensible product road map that prolongs their applications' lives with minimal effort, while speeding performance and lowering management overhead.

At the same time, E-Global also moved to the latest version of ACI's ON/2 payments software for its increased performance and reliability. The flexibility of this open-standards platform allows for rapid application development and customization, enabling the processor to quickly respond to the changing needs of its customers and the demands of the marketplace.

"E-Global is the perfect example of customers with high-value core applications, such as ON/2, that have performed exceptionally well for many years," said Philip Izzo, Stratus director of business development, financial services. "V Series servers provide the power, performance and scalability to accommodate new growth when the legacy platform running critical applications has reached maturity. We're very pleased to be able to play a continuing role in E-Global's business expansion and success."

ACI and Stratus have collaborated for many years to provide complete payments solutions to global financial services companies, and Stratus became an ACI Strategic Alliance Partner in 2003. "Through our long-standing partnership with Stratus, ACI is pleased to provide our payments processing solution to E-Global," said Jeff Hale, chief marketing officer, ACI Worldwide. "As payments processors and large banks move to open systems and leverage the inherent flexibility of ACI software architecture and reliability of Stratus' server platforms, they quickly realize the advantages that accompany an integrated solution optimized for their business requirements."
