Caja de Gipuzkoa y San Sebastian (Kutxa), a leading Spanish financial institution, has signed an agreement with NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR ) to extend its financial self-service network, incorporating more than 60 new NCR Personas 76 M Series automated teller machines (ATMs) with image-based deposit functionality.

These new units integrate NCR's "No Envelope" Deposit technology that recognizes notes inserted directly into the ATM without a deposit envelope, and offers a printed proof of the transaction on the customer's receipt.

Guillermo Urrestarazu, Gipuzkoa customers director for Kutxa, said, "New self-service functionalities increase use of the units and the confidence of Kutxa's customers when using our financial channel. Until now, putting the notes inside an envelope and waiting until the deposit was confirmed, and accounted for the day after, did not offer maximum confidence to some users. Now with the NCR's new Intelligent Deposit functionality, customers can get more immediate credit and receive proof of their deposit right on the receipt."

Bob Tramontano, vice president of self-service for NCR's Financial Solutions Division, said, "Around the globe, NCR is helping our valued customers experience the business drivers and customer service enhancement that image-based, self-service deposit provides. NCR has vast expertise in both the back office of the branch and the front line. We know how to successfully make this complex transaction seamless for our customers, and ultimately for their customers, the consumer. It is a technology that provides a win-win for all who experience it."
