Tumbleweed SecureTransport™ is a leading Managed File Transfer solution providing the most secure, reliable, manageable and auditable file exchange inside and outside of your organisation. Financial networks use SecureTransport to move billions of dollars in financial transactions daily, and at least 8 of the top 10 U.S. banks and leading U.K. banks including Prudential and Irish Life & Permanent use it to serve tens of thousands of corporate customers. Healthcare providers, payors, producers and clearing houses are linked through SecureTransport, which provides a single, integrated secure file transfer infrastructure for transferring private health information (PHI). Government agencies, such as the Computer Sciences Corporation in the UK, leverage SecureTransport to share sensitive documents with other agencies.

"It is a business requirement that today’s enterprise organisations effectively manage and secure data movement across the Internet. Regulatory mandates such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) are forcing companies to document all their business processes and more securely manage how data moves within an organisation," said Frank Kenney, Principal Research Analyst with Gartner. "To address these challenges, organisations will require Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions that effectively control all aspects of data movement in a secure and manageable way. Vendors that can address key Managed File Transfer priorities such as security, scalability, functionality and manageability will be best positioned to lead the market."

According to a recent survey commissioned by Ziff Davis on behalf of Tumbleweed, security related issues represent the top four concerns that organisations have about moving files over the Internet. The findings revealed that organisations are concerned about file transfers compromising security and data. Loss of customer, partner and personal data, loss of control over proprietary information and failure to meet security audit requirements are the top organisational concerns about transferring files. Respondents also emphasised that an easy to use appliance and File Transfer Protocol (FTP) strategy, like the new SecureTransport 4.6, is “extremely” valuable.

Tumbleweed SecureTransport 4.6 support for OpenPGP encryption, allows for automatic signature validation, and supports a variety of standard protocols, including HTTP, FTP, SFTP, SCP and AS2. Scalable to tens of thousands of users, Secure Transport 4.6 ships with a streamlined administrative user interface providing improved visibility and management of accounts, file transfers, cluster operations and reporting features.

"With this latest version of SecureTransport, Tumbleweed leads the industry by offering the highest levels of security, scalability, functionality and performance in a Managed File Transfer solution," said James Guthrie, Executive Vice President of Product at Tumbleweed. "We have built one of the most secure and reliable Managed File Transfer solutions that easily integrates with our customers’ existing IT infrastructure while offering secure, reliable and manageable data movement."
