Nomura had extensive experience of legacy keyword technologies which spurred them to search for a next-generation solution. Autonomy was chosen following a competitive procurement focusing on scalability and multi-lingual support including Japanese.

Nomura is one of the leading securities and investment banking companies in Japan. It provides individual investors and corporate clients with a broad range of services, including investment advisory services and securities underwriting.

Nomura benefits from synergies across its diverse operations drawing on the unique strengths of each member of the group. In order to capitalize on opportunities and cater for a broader range of investment needs, the company is positioning itself for high levels of growth and is enlarging its operations. Autonomy's technology will automate the process of information retrieval, connecting Nomura's global departments more efficiently than ever before, aggregating information through a single channel to provide immediate access and continuous awareness of new information as it emerges.

Dr. Mike Lynch, founder and CEO of Autonomy, commented: "We are delighted that Nomura has selected Autonomy. Over the past year or so, more and more organizations are realizing the limitations of keyword search and are turning to Autonomy for all of their unstructured information needs."
