Sandy Spring Bank joins NYCE payments network

The $2.6 billion banking subsidiary of Sandy Spring Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq: SASR) brings about 30,000 cards and 47 ATMs into the NYCE Network. Additionally, NYCE has signed 12 financial institution network participants from Pennsylvania and New Jersey, adding another 80,000 cards and 70 ATMs to the network. NYCE is a leading U.S. debit card payments network and an affiliate of Metavante Corporation, the banking and payments technology subsidiary of Marshall & Ilsley Corporation (NYSE: MI).

Sandy Spring Bank, the third-largest commercial banking organization headquartered in Maryland, operates a network of 32 community banking offices in Maryland's Anne Arundel, Carroll, Frederick, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Metavante provides Sandy Spring with financial account processing, prepaid debit card personalization and fulfillment, gateway transaction processing and client relationship management solutions.

In addition to Sandy Spring Bank, financial institutions based in Pennsylvania and New Jersey have expanded their Metavante relationship to include NYCE Network participation. From Pennsylvania, the new NYCE Network members are County National Bank, Earthstar Bank, First Priority Bank of Malvern, Kish Bank, Leesport Bank and Washington Federal Savings Bank. New Jersey participants now include Citizens Community Bank, Highlands State Bank, Indus American Bank, Noble Community Bank, Northern State Bank and North Jersey Community Bank.
