£24.1 billion of income-related benefits and social tariffs in Great Britain go unclaimed every year. The Vanquis Benefits Checker aims to close that gap for its customers by making it simple to discover and access support they are eligible for.

The new service follows a successful pilot partnership with Fair Finance, which has already helped more than 11,000 people identify and claim over £17 million in benefits since December 2024 through a decline referral programme.

Driving financial inclusion and long-term resilience

Both these initiatives align with regulators’ calls for firms to take proactive, collaborative steps to improve customer wellbeing and is in line with the UK Government’s commitment to develop a National Strategy for Financial Inclusion, in partnership with the financial services sector and the Financial Inclusion Committee.

Ian McLaughlin, CEO of Vanquis, said: “Helping customers access the benefits they’re entitled to is a powerful way to ease financial pressure, reduce reliance on borrowing, and support a more secure future. Too many low-income households miss out, and we’re determined to change that.”

Empowering customers through technology

The Vanquis Benefits Checker, powered by the InBest AI platform, uses a simple, guided questionnaire to identify potential benefit entitlements, including Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Disability and Carer’s Allowances, and more. Customers answer a few straightforward questions about their household, income, and living situation, and are then directed to the official pages where they can apply for relevant benefits.

As part of Vanquis’ broader digital transformation strategy, a new customer app will launch in Q1 2026. Benefits-checking functionality and market-leading features from Snoop will be rolled out progressively throughout the year, empowering customers with greater control over their finances and helping them make their money work harder.
