Launched in partnership with Mastercard, Citizens Edge offers a robust suite of features ranging from flexible credit limits and cash back rewards to integrated travel and expense management, secure virtual card options and 24/7 client support.

Citizens Edge is built to meet the unique needs of middle market companies, a segment of the economy that accounts for one-third of gross domestic product (GDP) and $6 trillion of business-to-business spending in the United States. These companies are scaling rapidly but often lack access to the sophisticated financial tools available to larger enterprises. Citizens Edge fills that gap with a flexible, secure solution.

The launch of Citizens Edge is the latest example of Citizens’ deep commitment to delivering innovative payment solutions that help middle market companies scale with confidence. It is the first commercial credit card introduced through Mastercard’s Middle Market Accelerator program, and builds on the momentum of Citizens’ recently launched consumer credit card suite, reflecting a broader strategy to deliver modern, flexible solutions across customer segments.

“Growth-stage companies want scalable credit that offers speed, ease of integration and control,” said Michael Cummins, head of Treasury Solutions at Citizens. “Citizens Edge delivers all three, helping middle market companies manage payments, expenses, travel booking and cash flow more effectively, while earning top rewards.”

As middle market companies seek to grow, digitize and safeguard their businesses, Citizens’ 2025 Payment Trends Report and Mastercard research have found that they face challenges with inefficient underwriting and access to digital tools, while fraud is a key concern. Citizens Edge meets these urgent market needs with tailored features including:

Flexible credit limits to help you scale
Cash back rewards starting at 1.5% that grow as you grow**
Integrated travel booking and expense management powered by Navan
Security features including a secure virtual card option to enhance protection and mitigate fraud
Personalized, 24/7 customer support for immediate assistance

In addition, the card offers valuable protections such as extended warranties, purchase assurance and Mastercard ID Theft Protection, providing added peace of mind. Travel perks such as Mastercard Travel Rewards, VAT Reclaim, and Priority Pass airport lounge access help cardholders maximize the value of Citizens Edge wherever business takes them.

“Middle market companies are an important driver of the economy, and their needs continue to evolve with every step of growth,” said Ginger Siegel, North America Lead for Small and Medium Business at Mastercard. “That’s why our partnership with Citizens is so vital — together, we are bringing forward the tools, technology and innovation that help businesses access flexible solutions they need to scale with confidence, streamline operations and safeguard their future.”

To simplify card program administration, Citizens has also introduced a new Commercial Card Management page accessible through Citizens’ universal commercial client portal, using single sign-on for seamless integration with other banking tools. The centralized, self-serve digital platform enables companies to manage their accounts, monitor spending and access real-time reporting all in one place.
