With the aim of creating a clear and, above all, comprehensive protection package for customers. The jointly developed cyber insurance solution combines state-of-the-art IT security services with real-time risk analysis in a single product, which gives customers a comprehensive package that goes far beyond a conventional IT security solution.

The focus is on Telekom customers from medium-sized businesses and industry with revenues between €100 million and €2 billion, who can optionally extend their cyber protection as part of the MDR (Managed Detection & Response) product family. They receive a transparent offer, which is determined using a short questionnaire and takes their individual needs into account. What makes this special is that customers can take advantage of an optional extended coverage limit with a term of up to 36 months with the new insurance offering. This gives them planning security over the entire term and also provides long-term premium stability.

“True cyber resilience requires an intelligent ecosystem”

The cyber insurance market seems confusing to many customers. They encounter numerous rates with rarely comparable components and complex contract terms. This makes it difficult to find the right insurance coverage. At the same time, the risks posed by cyberattacks, data leaks, and IT failures are constantly increasing. Regulatory requirements are also growing significantly, highlighting the urgency for a comprehensive protection solution. "At Zurich, we are convinced that true cyber resilience requires more than isolated tools – it needs a unified, intelligent ecosystem that combines insurance, IT security, and cyber intelligence. Through our strategic collaboration with Deutsche Telekom, we are creating an offering that meets these requirements. Together, we are setting new standards," emphasizes Petra Riga-Müller, CEO Commercial Insurance at Zurich Group Germany.

The best of three worlds:
insurance, IT security, and cyber intelligence
The partnership between Zurich Germany and Deutsche Telekom represents a comprehensive package that goes far beyond a conventional IT security solution. Customers benefit from a combination of insurance and IT security that brings together the best of three worlds:

Zurich, as an insurance expert, contributes its knowledge to the design and management of the product and supports customers in the event of a claim, for example by providing advice on legal issues. In addition, Zurich offers further services through its unit “Zurich Resilience Solutions,” such as the quantitative assessment of cyber risks, and helps customers gain a holistic view of their individual risk situation.
DeTeAssekuranz is responsible for the design of the product thanks to its expertise in the field of cyber security and in the context of the insurance market. As a broker, it advises customers on cyber insurance and is the first point of contact for questions. In close cooperation with Zurich, it takes the lead in assessing the regulatory framework.
The technical expertise of Telekom Security forms the basis for comprehensive risk identification, prevention, and rapid response to cyber threats. Telekom's Managed Detection and Response Services, such as MDR Pro, detect cyberattacks in real time, ward them off, and provide clear recommendations for action if necessary. Whether endpoints, cloud, networks, or identities: around the clock, in the highest Telekom quality. They offer proactive protection to business customers of various sizes – for greater security and business success.

“Since, in my opinion, there is no such thing as 100% technical security, supplementary insurance can be a sensible investment. A highly motivated, experienced team meets a reliable insurer to create a tailor-made product,” says Telekom Security CEO Thomas Tschersich.

Focused risk assessment process
The combined expertise offers companies a simpler and faster risk assessment process than usual: a simplified questionnaire focuses on the most important risk indicators and is coordinated with current technical data. This provides companies with tailor-made solutions that meet their individual needs – with a clear focus on efficiency and transparency. The result is a fully customized offering that is tailored to the customer's specific risk profile and takes into account all applicable regulatory and legal requirements.
