During the first six months of the year, CaixaBank customers made more than 170.4 million transfers using Bizum, representing an average of nearly one million transactions per day. This is in addition to nearly 5 million online purchases, a 70% increase over the same period last year, reflecting the growing adoption of this service in e-commerce.

In addition, 92% of registered customers have used Bizum in the last three months, an indicator of the high degree of loyalty and recurring use of the service among the bank's users. This commitment is particularly evident at imagin, CaixaBank Group's neobank, where nearly 2 million customers use Bizum every month.

Constant innovation and improved user experience

CaixaBank has strengthened its commitment to Bizum with the launch of new features designed to facilitate digital payments in different areas such as the payment of fees and taxes on public platforms, and with optimisation of the online shopping process, seeking a more agile, intuitive and frictionless user experience.

CaixaBank customers can use Bizum at more than 32,000 online stores, a figure that is steadily growing. In the first half of 2025, the pace of new merchant acquisition has accelerated, driven by demand for fast and secure digital payment solutions.

Boosting international Bizum payments

Another of the bank's major endeavours is Bizum's international expansion, already enabling users to send and receive money in Portugal and Italy. This feature, developed as part of the European Payments Initiative (EuroPA) project, makes cross-border payments as simple as domestic payments: By selecting a contact from a mobile phone or entering a phone number, the money is transferred immediately.

With this initiative, CaixaBank continues to lead the digital transformation of financial services, committed to solutions that combine innovation, security and simplicity to improve customer experience.
