Bank iD is a secure, bank-issued e-identification system used by over 4.6 million people in the Czech Republic. Known for its robust banking-grade authentication, it has facilitated over 54 million transactions to date. It enables businesses to remotely verify the identities of Czech customers within seconds, with full compliance with Czech Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.

“By enabling Czech Bank iD within our eID Hub, we’re unlocking significant opportunities for businesses operating in or expanding to the Czech Republic,” said Allard Keuter, Tribe Lead Authentication at Signicat. “We were pleased to collaborate with Czech Bank iD on this integration and are grateful for their support throughout the process. This integration reflects our commitment to simplifying identity verification processes, enhancing security, and ensuring compliance for our customers across Europe. Bank iD streamlines onboarding, authentication, and signing, while reducing integration complexity for businesses”.

This integration offers significant advantages for companies in sectors such as finance, insurance, health care and automotive that require secure and rapid identity verification. Businesses with Czech operations or those expanding into the region can now remotely onboard customers, employees, or students in seconds. Bank iD’s authentication process ensures that enterprises achieve frictionless compliance with AML and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations.

Furthermore, companies trading with Czech entities—including those from Germany, Austria, France, and Poland, which are the nation’s key trading partners—will benefit from this simplified access to the Czech market by identifying the Czech trading counterpart.

The inclusion of Czech Bank iD exemplifies the flexibility and comprehensive benefits of Signicat’s eID Hub. Businesses can integrate seamlessly using market standards rather than proprietary protocols, ensuring smooth implementation. Adding new eID schemes is simple and efficient, relying on configuration instead of complex integration. Additionally, customers can enrich and corroborate identity data using Signicat’s extensive network of over 200 data sources, while robust risk signals enable enhanced security when needed. Organisations can also leverage Signicat’s full suite of complementary solutions, such as eIDV and orchestration tools, to optimise their workflows. With just a single connection, guaranteed compliance with all supported schemes is assured.

This integration strengthens Signicat’s position as the premier solution for navigating Europe’s increasingly intricate digital identity landscape. With its unmatched geographic coverage and support for more than 36 e-identity schemes, Signicat continues to enable cross-border operations for enterprises seeking secure and compliant digital identity verification and authentication.
