Charles River Development, a leading provider of financial software and services to the global investment management community, today announced that AGF Management Limited (AGF) is the first Canadian investment manager to go live on both the Charles River Investment Management System (Charles River IMS) and Charles River's Remote Application Management offering.

AGF is also leveraging the Charles River Network for the real-time transmission of global FIX-based indications of interest (IOIs), orders, executions and allocations with the firm's broker dealer community.

Charles River is actively providing ongoing application management and support for Charles River IMS as well as global, real-time FIX connectivity for electronic trading, continual FIX connectivity testing, certification and management on the Charles River Network. Offered as a part of the Charles River Managed Services group, the Remote Application Management offerings provide investment managers fully managed and outsourced services which leverage Charles River's best practices and technical expertise.

"By implementing Charles River IMS, our fixed income and equity portfolio managers, portfolio analysts, traders, settlements staff and compliance personnel will be able to operate on one enterprise-wide platform, dramatically improving workflow efficiency and the overall operational flexibility of the firm. In addition, by having Charles River remotely manage the technology aspect, we not only benefit by freeing up internal resources for other projects, but we now have one access point for expert OMS and FIX trading advice," said Martin Hubbes, CIO for AGF Management Limited. "The Charles River team – management, implementation and support alike – were critical to this success clearly displaying their support and dedication towards creating a long-standing partnership."

Charles River IMS is a comprehensive, market-leading software suite for all security types that facilitates portfolio management and modeling (Charles River Manager), order management and electronic trading (Charles River Trader), real-time compliance monitoring (Charles River Compliance) and the centralized management of trade matching, confirmation and settlement workflow (Charles River Post-Trade). The system incorporates global, real-time FIX trading via the Charles River Network, a reliable, secure, private financial network.

AGF also utilizes standard and customized Charles River IMS interfaces to the firm's third-party accounting platform, Bloomberg's daily reference data feed and FMCNet for post-trade operations. Automating the manual processes and enabling the seamless, electronic transfer among the multiple systems results in reduced trade processing times, faster reporting and an overall smoother front-, middle- and back-office workflow.
