Wealthsimple’s Premium and Generation clients can choose to receive exclusive access to a free 10GB travel eSIM, valid for one calendar year after activation. With just a few taps in the milestone rewards section in the Wealthsimple app, they can install their travel eSIM and go online immediately upon arrival at their destination. The eSIM works across multiple regions, requiring activation only once, and can be used alongside a primary physical SIM or eSIM.

According to Juniper Research, travel eSIM adoption will grow by 440% over the next five years due to increasing demand for high-speed browsing and streaming on the move. In 2024, The average traveler spent over $85 dollars for every 10GB of roaming data. With their travel eSIM, Wealthsimple premium users can browse, post and stream on vacation with no surprise bill.

Dennis Bauer, Co-founder and President of Gigs, said, “Wealthsimple continues to raise the bar with world-class services. As the first Canadian fintech platform to add a travel eSIM, powered by Gigs, to their rewards program, they’ve demonstrated their ability to provide clients with the best rewards in the industry. We look forward to deepening our partnership in the months ahead and continuing to set new standards for seamless connectivity for their millions of clients across the country.”
