Leading European brokerage Comdirect is to begin offering mortgages over its Web site.
The online mortgage service is being provided in conjunction with local personal finance Web site eXtrahyp, and the UK's moneyextra.
From early next year, visitors to the Comdirect Web site will be able to use the service for comparison shopping of mortgage rates and terms from third party providers. Links will be provided to respective lender Web sites. EXtrahyp will also offer personal consultancy for more complex queries through a dedicated call centre. If a deal is agreed, documentation and preliminary approval will be turned around within 48 hours, says Comdirect.
Operating as a pure play share dealing service, Comdirect currently logs more than 50 million visits every month. Bernt Weber, board speaker, Comdirect, says the delivery of online mortgages "expands our product range and strengthens our position as the leading provider of online financial services".
