Interbank messaging network Swift has renewed its contract with US telecommuncations firm Sprint for the supply and maintenance of international private lines (IPLs).
Under the contract, Sprint will continue to provide IPLs to the Swift backbone at nodes in Europe, Asia and the US. Sprint says the IPLs are an integral part of the Swift backbone and ensure that communications traffic is delivered securely and at high speed.
Sprint will also continue to manage the IPLs end to end. The firm says service delivery will be improved through streamlined management backed up by service level agreements (SLAs).
Mark Kellerhuis, Sprint general manager, The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, says: "Reliability is the number one priority for Swift and we stand by one of the most reliable communications networks in the business, with industry-leading SLAs that cover performance, availability and installation."
Swift has been using Sprint's telecommunications services for the last 10 years.
