Under the agreement Bloomberg subscribers also will be able to access real-time and historical CME market data.

Terry Duffy, chairman, CME, says: "By using their Bloomberg terminals to access news and real-time information across multiple markets, as well as to trade on Globex, these professionals now have the tools to react more quickly to world events and use CME futures and options on futures more efficiently and effectively."

Bloomberg says connecting to CME is a natural fit for its overall strategy of allowing customers to trade on multiple exchanges 24 hours a day. Users of Bloomberg's platform are currently able to trade electronically with Euronext-Liffe, Eurex, Singapore Exchange and Cbot, among others.

Andrew Hausman, global manager of electronic futures trading, adds: "Giving our clients access to the most comprehensive suite of news, data and analytics, co-mingled with advanced trading tools, is a necessity for traders dealing in the futures market."
