Technical problems hit Euronext.Liffe and Euronext Paris - Reuters

London's Euronext.Liffe derivatives exchange was forced to suspend trading in financial and commodity futures yesterday because of technical problems with its electronic trading platform Liffe Connect, according to a report by Reuters.

A Euronext.Liffe spokesperson said trade in equity products was unaffected.

"We have brought (Connect) down just due to technical problems. We are just looking at it now and we are going to get the market back up shortly," the spokeperson said.

In a separate report by Reuters, the Euronext Paris exchange said yesterday that the same problems affected its commodities futures and some French financial futures.

According to the report, a spokeswoman said: "There are also some problems in Paris. We suspended the commodities futures as well as the CAC 40 futures and options."
