Merrill Lynch Japan Securities is to implement Syntegra's voice trading software across its new dealing rooms in Nihonbashi, Tokyo.
Merrill Lynch Japan Securities is moving to the new site in February 2004. The new technology replaces older Syntegra equipment that was installed in 1994.
The firm will implement 200 pV405Hi and 54 pV105Hi IP-ready turrets at the new site, running on ITS Release 15 software. The firm will also deploy 100 pVs8li speakers, which are designed to provide talkback through multiple speaker channels simultaneously, and an ITS intercom that will provide communication between the front and back office.
The software will be integrated with the firm's back-office IP system, which is provided by Avaya.
Syntegra says Merrill Lynch will use its Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) applications to improve customer service. The firm will also deploy the ITSprofile and ITSmonitor applications from the vendor's ITS Management Suite to enable administrators to configure and monitor turrets, either on the trading floor or remotely.
Phil Hordle, first vice president and Pacific Rim head of infrastructure and data services, Merrill Lynch, says: "We have had a long and successful relationship with Syntegra and their dealerboard products in our existing office and we are looking forward to continuing this in our new building."
