Atlanta-based S1 Corporation has integrated Priva Technologies' Cleared Security Platform, which provides up to four factors of identity verification, with the latest release of the its teller software.
The Cleared platform uses a patent-pending microchip, the ClearedChip, to provide authenticated access to computer networks while protecting data against intrusion. The ClearedChip contains several secure memory areas which S1 will use for offline biometric authentication, which will allow frontline branch staff to continue working in the event that their networks are temporarily unavailable.
Priva says the platform allows employees to access a bank's computer systems using a ClearedKey, an authentication device that uses at least four factors to validate the identity of the user through interactions with a host-based authentication server.
Jeff Minushkin, CEO and founde, Priva, says the toolkit provided with the platform will make it simple for branch banking users to extend its use beyond teller sign-on to other legacy and custom-designed applications.
Separately, S1 says it has signed up nearly 90 financial institutions to its Enterprise suite since the product was launched in March last year. The package includes the vendor's personal, business and corporate banking applications which run on the J2EE-based Enterprise Platform.
S1 says more than 30 new clients are currently live with one or more applications. In addition to new clients, 24 existing customers are migrating from legacy applications to Enterprise solutions. Also, more than 90% of Enterprise customers are choosing to deploy more than one application on the platform.
Approximately half of S1 Enterprise clients are choosing the vendor's managed hosting services, which are supplied from its data centre in California.
