Universal Kart offers technical consultancy and services to companies issuing cards and installing PoS terminals. The deal with Gemplus enables the firm to meet the stringent standards set by the payment card associations for EMV compliance, from data processing to card issuance. It also contains provisions for outsourcing card personalisation to Gemplus should demand escalate.

An estimated six million EMV smart cards will be issued in Turkey over the next four years.
