B&F Soft's client base consists of 38 banks in 15 countries including the Central Bank of Egypt, Bank MISR, Banque Du Caire, Cairo Barclays, Islamic Development Bank in Saudi Arabia and Banque Africane pour le Developpment et le Commerce.

The Cortex suite includes debit and credit card solutions and switching, ATM and merchant acquiring software. As well as marketing and distribution, B&F Soft will also provide clients with support services for the software.

John Yeomans, CEO, Nomad Software says the partnership opens up an entirely new territory for Nomad, one that is set to grow rapidly over the next few years.

"The North African market in general, and Egypt in particular, has a very low card penetration. This affords the domestic banking sector huge potential for growth as it is encouraged to migrate from what is a predominantly cash based society to a card based one," he adds.
