Under the muli-year contract, Qwest will provide Scottrade with a private routed communication network, enabling the broker to deliver solutions across its branch offices.

Jeff Polsgrove, chief information officer, Scottrade, says: "Now we'll have even more secure and reliable connections to our branches and customers and their important account information."

The vendor's communications service consists of a 180,000-plus-mile global broadband network, which provides a platform for a range services including single private line or frame relay applications and Web hosting.
