Building on this initial deployment, IBS is currently implementing a broad range of initiatives, including the extension of webMethods' middleware to its Global Markets Unit in a project to integrate Murex with existing applications and databases. The package is also being deployed within the Working Capital Services Business Unit to streamline the processing of payment files to and from corporate and institutional customers.

Chris Liell-Cock, general manager, technology and programs, Commonwealth Bank of Australia says the implementation programme is already realising significant cost efficiencies.

"We have already gone live with Swift 15022 processing within the Custodial Services Business Unit and IBS is planning broader initiatives using webMethods' integration solutions to consolidate the way IBS connects to the Swift network," she says.
